Wendy Orr
Wendy Orr is the author of Peeling the Onion. Wendy has written many different types of books such as Nim's Island, Mokie and Bik, ABANDONED! A Lion Called Kiki, and tons of more. She wrote more than 20 children's books.

Wendy Orr was born in Edmonton in Canada at 1953 , and spent her childhood in Canada, France, and Colorado. She went to England for the summer and stayed in London to study Occupational Therapy. She then moved to Albury, New South Wales, with her husband, Tom where she worked as an occupational therapist. However, in the year 1991, she had a serious accident that had changed her life, so she wasn't able to be an occupational therapist anymore. Before the accident, her son James was born in 1979, a year later she bought her first farm, in northeast Victoria. After buying the farm, a year later, her daughter Susan was born. She now works in New York, and James in Melbourne. After they left, Wendy and Tom are trying to restore the acres of bushes at their farm for wildlife. Wendy Orr now lives with her husband, Tom and her dog Harry. She started writing seriously in 1986.The love of stories, books and being read to goes back earlier than she can remember, the passion for reading books for herself and the start of wanting to write them wasn’t till she was nearly 7.
